PASSENGER SERVICE:An expanding business.
In November of 1983, two Boeing 727-100 aircraft were acquired and converted to high-density passenger seating configuration for charter operations. A contract to operate these two aircraft was entered into with a major tour operator in Philadelphia. In January 1984, Ryan International Airlines began passenger charter operations. |
|
Up until 1986 the airline was a d.b.a. of Ryan Aviation Corporation and when the assets of Ryan Aviation were sold in 1994, Ryan International remained the name of the airlines corporate structure. Ryan added a third passenger aircraft in December 1984, a Boeing 727-200 aircraft, which seated 186 passengers. In August 1985, Ryan sold its two passenger Boeing 727-100s and, in May 1986, the Boeing 727-200 aircraft was sold. Would you like to know more ? Next Chapter: Ryan and UPS. |
